13 Super Simple Ways To Reduce Your Gas Bill
The Gas Bill has gone up and it’s going to go up again in April and October.
At the moment, we’ve been told by our government that it is an increase of 54%. That’s right Fifty-four per cent. That’s a huge gas bill.
Now I won’t go into the whole Brexit thing or the fact that other countries are facing increases of 5-6% but I will go into ways to reduce the impact.
Here are 13 Super Simple Ways To Reduce Your Gas Bill.
13 Super Simple Ways To Reduce Your Gas Bill:
1. Turn the water temperature down.
No one likes a lukewarm bath but on positive side at least it’ll reduce the bathroom hogging time.
2. Turn off radiators
Turn off radiators in unused rooms.
3. Reduce thermostat
The Department of Energy estimates savings of about 1 percent for each degree of thermostat adjustment per 8 hours, and recommends turning thermostats back 7 to 10 degrees from their normal settings for 8 hours per day to achieve annual savings of up to 10%.
5. Reduce radiator water temperature
All the degrees add up.
6. Reduce heating time
How long do you really need the heating on for?
Two hours before you wake up?
Three hours after you go to bed? Even setting the timer to switch off at the same time you leave the house is wasteful.
Who’s enjoying that warmth whilst you’re out?
Switching off your heating an hour before you leave out stills allows you to appreciate the warmth before you go out.
9. Fit draught excluders
Fit draught excluders to your doors, letterbox and windows.
10. Reduce Shower Time
Time is money and its going down the drain literally.
You have two options here (I’ll let you decide which is most acceptable to you):
Option 1: The On Off Method – Shower on: Wet skin. Shower Off: Soap Up Shower On: Rinse.
OR
Option 2: The Rapid Method: Get in shower fast and get out.
Either way your shower time needs to be short. In general you should try to keep your showers to under five minutes or 35 litres of water.
Basically your shower time needs to be less than one song!
11. Reduce Bath Size
